Grace upon grace...
Por: Pedro Paulo Costa
A certain woman
caught in adultery
by the scribes and Pharisees,
was taken to Jesus
with the crowd,
so that it would be
stoned,
according to the law of Moses...
The story
reported in the gospel,
makes it clear
that there was a gang there
of religious
full of sense
of justice,
to condemn a woman
who was caught in a crime...
But, we can
understand from the story,
that there was a certain
desire of those
hypocritical religious
to put Jesus to the test,
because they were telling you
that the current law
ordered that execution,
What do you say then?
But, Jesus
did not answer them,
and when He bowed
I wrote with my finger on the ground...
The scenario indicated
that behind
of the sense of justice,
there was an ethics
devoid of reason,
based
in a mosaic primer,
indicating
the lynching,
as a final point,
and Jesus was challenged
to be the judge
that question...
However,
how they insisted
to ask Jesus
what would be the sentence
to be imposed
to that woman,
He told them
rising up,
the one among you
who is without sin,
be the first
throw a stone at him...
It happened
that listening
what Jesus said,
everyone left
leaving there one by one,
Jesus alone remained there,
and the woman standing...
And Jesus said to the woman
that she was,
and sin no more...
Jesus had said
on another occasion
that the Son of Man,
came to seek and save
what was lost...
Jesus came
offer us grace,
the grace that was consumed
on Calvary,
in your spilled blood...
Grace offered for free...
The undeserved favor...
Free grace...
Grace... Flowing from the cross...
Grace that offers us Life...
Easy to understand...
Grace upon grace!...
